Effortless "Post-Xmas Reboot" Recipes (Nutritionist-approved!)

Let's be honest, have you overdosed on treats this festive season? Turn over a new leaf and welcome a healthier, leaner you in the New Year with these delicious recipes, dreamed up by our in-house nutritionist, "the superfoodist" Rick Hay.

The Green Dream

Ingredients:

Directions:

Blend 1 cup of cool Green tea and 1 cup of cool peppermint tea Add the almond milk and a scoop of Synergy Natural Organic Super Greens PowderAdd a teaspoon of stevia or one or two of agave syrup for sweetness.

 

Berry Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of strawberries
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 2 tbs natural bio yoghurt/coconut yoghurt
  • 1 tsp Watson and Son Manuka honey
  • ¼ cup Cacao Nibs

Directions: Blend all of the fruit together stirring in the yoghurt and almond milk, blend again. Transfer to a bowl and top with cacao nibs.

Coconut Parfait

  • Natural bio yoghurt or coconut yoghurt
  • 1 cup Blueberries
  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 1/4 cup of raspberries of your choice
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1 tbs dedicated coconut
  • 1 tbs agave nectar/honey
  • 1 banana chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 scoop Sunwarrior Protein Powder

Directions:
Blend the yoghurt of your choosing with the Sunwarrior Protein Powder, blueberries and vanilla extract, add 1/4 of the chopped banana to the bottom of the glass and top with the oats. Pour the yoghurt mixture over the oats and add the strawberries and berries of your choice to decorate. Drizzle the agave nectar over the parfait and sprinkle on the coconut.

Berry Breakfast Bowl

Ingredients:
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 cup strawberries
1 cup almond milk
1/2 avocado chopped
1 tbs chia seeds soaked for 10/15 minutes in water
1 cup of Oats and one serve of Sunwarrior Protein Powder.

Directions:
Blend the almond milk, Sunwarrior  Protein Powder and avocado thoroughly.

Add the fruit last as it creates the sweeter taste, blend. Once ready pour into a bowl and stir in the oats, making sure they are completely covered. Top with the chia seeds, cover and put in the fridge overnight to cool. 

Superfood Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp Synergy Natural Spirulina Powder
  • 1 pear chopped
  • 1 cup spinach and kale washed
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 tbs chia seeds soaked in water 
  • 1 tbs pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tsp linseeds
  • 1 tbs dedicated coconut
  • Fruit of choice for topping

Directions:

Blend the veg first with the almond milk and chia seeds. Next, add the fruit blend then pour into a bowl. Top with the seeds and coconut and any desired fruit. Cool overnight in the fridge if desired.

Healthy Granola Bars

Ingredients:

  • Gluten free rice crisps
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1 cup gluten free oats
  • 1/2 cup agave nectar
  • 1/2 cup cranberries and raisins
  • 1/4 cup mixed seeds pumpkin, linseed, sunflower
  • 1/8 cup almonds
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 scoop Sunwarrior Protein Powder

Directions:

Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl, stirring thoroughly. Over a low heat mix the tahini and agave nectar in a saucepan for 2 minutes stirring thoroughly. Remove from heat and leave for 1 minute. Pour the mix over the bowl of oats, dried fruits and seeds, it should be difficult to mix in the end add the vanilla extract at the end. Using a baking tray lined with baking parchment spread the mix over the tray. Using the palm of your hand or a rolling pin flatten the mixture out and place it in the freezer uncovered for ten minutes. After ten minutes take out of the freezer cut into slices and serve!

Date Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana chopped
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1/4 cup dates stones removed
  • 1 green apple chopped
  • 1 tbs chia seeds soaked in water for ten minutes
  • 1 scoop Sunwarrior Protein Powder

Directions:

Blend the banana, green apple and dates with the protein powder, crushed ice and almond milk. Top with the chia seeds!

Protein Ice Cream

Ingredients:

Directions:

Chop the bananas and freeze for at least 2 hours, blend frozen with the almond milk, protein powder and nut butter. Scoop out into a bowl.
