According to a new study published in Nutrients, just 1.5 ounces of pecans a day may protect adults at risk of developing cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Researchers at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University concluded that incorporating pecans into your diet significantly improved insulin sensitivity and had a meaningful effect on markers of cardiometabolic disease in otherwise healthy adults who overweight or obese.
